President Murmu Addresses Convocation at Guru Jambheshwar University

Hisar: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced the convocation ceremony of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, emphasizing the pivotal role of higher education in preparing the youth for evolving global demands. Addressing students, faculty, and dignitaries, she underscored the necessity of extending the benefits of education and technology to rural areas for balanced and sustainable development.

President Murmu lauded Guru Jambheshwar University for its efforts in making higher education accessible to students from small towns and rural areas. She urged these students to act as ambassadors of education in their communities, raising awareness about its transformative power and inspiring others to pursue learning.

Highlighting India’s vision to become a Global Knowledge Superpower, the President stressed the importance of world-class research and innovation. She commended the university’s contributions in research, incubation, startups, and patent filing, expressing confidence that these initiatives would foster entrepreneurship and innovation, ultimately strengthening India’s global standing in knowledge and technology.

The President emphasized that education is not just about acquiring skills but also about nurturing values like morality, compassion, and social responsibility. She encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurship, not just as a career path but as a means to create employment opportunities and contribute to societal progress. She urged them to shift their mindset from job-seekers to job-creators, using their knowledge and skills to drive economic growth and social change.

In her speech, President Murmu paid tribute to Guru Jambheshwar Ji, the revered saint and philosopher after whom the university is named. She highlighted his teachings on scientific thinking, ethical living, and environmental conservation, stating that these principles remain highly relevant in today’s fight against climate change and ecological degradation. She expressed confidence that students and faculty would uphold these values, continuing to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation’s development.
