President Droupadi Murmu Unveils Durand Cup Trophies at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: In a grand ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, President Droupadi Murmu, unveiled the prestigious trophies of the Durand Cup Tournament 2024. The unveiled trophies include the iconic Durand Cup, the President’s Cup, and the Shimla Trophy, marking the commencement of one of the oldest and most celebrated football tournaments in the world.

In her address, President Murmu emphasized the global popularity of football, noting the electrifying atmosphere created when professional footballers perform in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans.

President Murmu extended her heartfelt best wishes to all the players participating in the Durand Cup Tournament 2024. She encouraged the athletes to engage in healthy competition, stressing the importance of respecting fellow teams regardless of the match outcome.
