President Droupadi Murmu to Inaugurate Aadi Mahotsav 2024, Celebrating India’s Tribal Heritage

New Delhi: The annual National Tribal Festival, Aadi Mahotsav 2024, is set to be inaugurated by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi on 10th February. The esteemed event, organized by TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, aims to spotlight and celebrate the rich diversity of India’s tribal heritage.

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Arjun Munda, will join President Droupadi Murmu in the inaugural ceremony, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the empowerment and promotion of tribal communities.

Aadi Mahotsav serves as a unique platform, not only to showcase the extraordinary talent and craftsmanship of tribal artisans but also to foster interactions, learning, and contribute to the overall empowerment of tribal communities.

The festival will boast an extensive showcase featuring over 300 stalls, offering a diverse array of tribal art, handicrafts, natural produce, and authentic tribal cuisine. With the participation of 1000 artisans, visitors will have the opportunity to engage with the creators behind the exquisite tribal creations, deepening their understanding of tribal culture.

As the sun sets, cultural programs will come alive with performances by tribal artists from across the country. A dedicated Food court will present a delectable journey through Tribal cuisines, often recognized as the original health foods, from different regions of the country.

A series of workshops, including Crafts Workshop, Adi Chitra (painting display) event, and industry-oriented B2B Sessions, will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the cultural journey. Industry leaders from prominent chambers such as ASSOCHAM, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), DICCI, Delhi Chamber of Commerce, Indian Chamber of Commerce, and FICCI are set to participate in these sessions, contributing to the scaling up of tribal products through entrepreneurial ventures.

Aadi Mahotsav 2024, spanning from 10th to 18th February, promises to be a celebration of diversity, culture, and the indomitable spirit of India’s tribal communities.
