President Droupadi Murmu Embarks on a Packed Agenda During Gujarat and Rajasthan Visit

New Delhi:  The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, is set to embark on a three-day visit to Gujarat and Rajasthan from February 12 to 14, 2024. The visit encompasses a diverse itinerary, including commemorating a significant birth anniversary, addressing educational convocations, engaging with tribal communities, and promoting self-help initiatives.

On the first day of her visit, President Murmu will be the chief guest at the 200th Janmotsav – Gyan Jyoti Parv Smaranotsav Samaroh, commemorating the birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. The event will take place at Tankara in Gujarat, where the President will participate in the celebrations and share insights on the teachings and legacy of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati.

Later on the same day, President Murmu will grace and address the 20th convocation of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology in Surat. The convocation ceremony is expected to be a momentous occasion for the graduating students as they receive their degrees from the esteemed President.

The second day of the visit will see President Murmu visiting Srimad Rajchandra Mission in Dharampur, Valsad. During her visit, she will engage with the mission’s activities and interact with members, gaining insights into the organization’s contributions to the community.

In continuation of her engagements with diverse communities, President Murmu will also meet and interact with members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in Dharampur, Gujarat. This interaction aims to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by these groups and explore avenues for their empowerment.

On the final day of her visit, President Murmu will address a gathering of tribal women associated with various Self Help Groups at Beneshwar Dham in Rajasthan. This event underscores the President’s commitment to promoting grassroots initiatives and empowering women in tribal communities.

The President’s visit is expected to strengthen the bonds between the central leadership and the diverse communities of Gujarat and Rajasthan. It reflects the government’s commitment to understanding the unique challenges and opportunities within these regions and fostering inclusive development initiatives.

President Droupadi Murmu’s visit is poised to be a blend of cultural celebration, academic acknowledgment, and community engagement, reinforcing the importance of unity in diversity within the fabric of India.
