President Droupadi Murmu Confers National Florence Nightingale Awards 2026

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday conferred the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2026 on 15 nursing professionals from across the country in recognition of their exceptional contribution to public healthcare and community welfare.

The awards were presented during a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav.

The awardees, representing different regions and healthcare settings, were honoured for their dedication, compassion and commitment towards strengthening healthcare delivery and serving communities under challenging conditions.

In her message, President Murmu said nursing professionals exemplify the highest standards of service and play a vital role in ensuring quality healthcare across the country.

Marking International Nurses Day, Jagat Prakash Nadda praised the resilience and selfless service of nurses and highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The National Florence Nightingale Award, instituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, recognises the outstanding services rendered by Registered Nurses, Midwives, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives and Lady Health Visitors working under Central and State Governments, Union Territories and voluntary organisations.

Each award carries a Certificate of Merit, a medal and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.
