Polling Preparedness Heightened as 88 Parliamentary Constituencies Gear Up for Voting on April 26

New Delhi: As India braces itself for the next phase of the general elections, a total of 88 Parliamentary Constituencies spread across 12 states are set to go to polls on April 26, 2024. To ensure the smooth conduct of elections and uphold the integrity of the electoral process, a comprehensive deployment of observers has been enacted.

A total of 89 General Observers, 53 Police Observers, and 109 Expenditure Observers have been strategically deployed in the constituencies slated for polling on April 26. These observers, tasked with overseeing every aspect of the electoral process, have all reported to their designated constituencies well ahead of the last date of nomination, which was April 3, 2024.

In a concerted effort to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process, Rajiv Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner, along with Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, Election Commissioners, convened a meeting with the deployed observers. During the meeting, they underscored the importance of ensuring the seamless functioning of polling stations and the provision of essential amenities to voters, particularly in combating the challenges posed by the prevailing heat conditions.
