PMAY Survey in Rural Odisha to Be Completed Within Two Months, Says Minister

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to complete the survey for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in rural areas within the next two months, according to Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik. The initiative aims to identify all eligible beneficiaries and ensure no deserving individual is left out.

Minister Naik emphasized the government’s proactive approach, stating that public awareness campaigns are being conducted across villages to inform residents about the scheme and encourage participation. “The survey for PMAY in rural areas is currently underway and will be completed in the next couple of months. We are spreading awareness through public meetings and ensuring people actively participate in the survey,” he said.

The Minister assured that individuals who were previously eligible but missed out on the benefits will now be included. “We are prioritizing the inclusion of all deserving individuals, ensuring these beneficial schemes reach those who need them,” Naik added.

To enhance transparency and efficiency, trainers assigned by the department are visiting villages to assist in identifying overlooked beneficiaries. Additionally, visiting ministers are reviewing PMAY survey reports during their inspections in various regions.

Minister Naik also criticized the previous government, alleging that many deserving individuals were excluded from the PMAY housing list in favor of ineligible beneficiaries due to political motivations. He reiterated the current administration’s commitment to rectifying these issues and ensuring fairness in the process.

Furthermore, Naik pledged to discuss Odisha’s PMAY needs with Union Ministers to secure additional benefits for the state. He highlighted the state government’s determination to complete the survey on schedule and ensure eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements under the housing scheme.

The PMAY initiative, which seeks to provide affordable housing for all by 2024, remains a crucial component of the government’s efforts to improve living conditions for rural communities in Odisha.
