New Delhi: A grand Rozgar Mela (job fair) was held today at the ongoing Divya Kala Mela at India Gate, aimed at empowering Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) and fostering self-reliance. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 404 Divyangjan from Delhi-NCR and nearby regions registering for opportunities, out of which 243 candidates were shortlisted for interviews.

Renowned companies, including Tata Power, Amazon, IBM, IndiGo Airlines, Lemon Tree Hotels, Zomato, and Flipkart, along with 20 other leading organizations, actively engaged in the mela. As a result, 24 Divyangjan received job offers, reflecting the growing inclusivity in corporate hiring practices.

Shri Jagannath Sarkar, Member of Parliament from Ranaghat, West Bengal, graced the occasion and interacted with Divyang artists and entrepreneurs from across the country. His encouragement and recognition added vibrancy to the event, fostering optimism among the participants.

The Rozgar Mela is part of the larger Divya Kala Mela, which is running from December 12 to 22. The event brings together over 100 Divyang entrepreneurs and artisans from across India, showcasing an impressive array of products. Cultural performances and food stalls offering diverse cuisines have further enhanced the mela’s appeal, drawing significant public attention.

Since its inception, the Divya Kala Mela initiative has facilitated employment for 178 Divyangjan, underlining its impact on the community. With its combination of employment opportunities, cultural celebration, and entrepreneurial support, the mela continues to be a beacon of empowerment for persons with disabilities across the nation.
