PM Sheikh Hasina Meets President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: The Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, met with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. This visit marks a significant moment in the enduring relationship between the two nations.

Welcoming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, President Murmu expressed her delight at their meeting, coming just days after the swearing-in ceremony of India’s new government. She emphasized that these regular interactions are a testament to the lasting spirit of friendship and cooperation that began during Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971.

President Murmu lauded the significant economic progress Bangladesh has achieved under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership. She noted that India and Bangladesh are rapidly strengthening their cooperation across various sectors and venturing into new areas of collaboration, expressing confidence that these efforts will shape the future trajectory of India-Bangladesh relations.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders agreed to work together to enhance their bilateral relationship across all domains. This includes deepening economic ties, expanding development partnerships, increasing defense cooperation, ensuring energy security, and improving connectivity between the two countries.
