PM Narendra Modi Unveils Mega Development Projects in Jammu and Kashmir, Worth Over Rs 32,000 Crore

Jammu:  In a historic event today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for a slew of transformative projects in Jammu and Kashmir, collectively valued at over Rs 32,000 crore. The multifaceted projects spanned across crucial sectors including health, education, rail, road, aviation, petroleum, and civic infrastructure.

Among the notable initiatives, the Prime Minister dedicated the campuses of prestigious educational institutes, including IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIITDM Kurnool, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Visakhapatnam, and the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) Kanpur. Additionally, he inaugurated AIIMS Jammu, a significant milestone in providing comprehensive healthcare services to the region.

Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the new terminal building of Jammu Airport, enhancing air connectivity and tourism. He also inaugurated a Common User Facility Petroleum depot, contributing to the energy infrastructure of the Union Territory.

A major focus was on strengthening road and rail connectivity, with the Prime Minister inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for several road and rail projects in Jammu and Kashmir. The projects aim to improve transportation links, fostering economic growth and development.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that the initiatives unveiled would propel holistic development in Jammu and Kashmir, creating opportunities for the youth and ensuring social justice. He emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and women, marking a shift towards a Viksit Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prime Minister highlighted the positive impact of the abrogation of Article 370, stating that it removed a significant obstacle to the region’s development. He underlined the government’s dedication to Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas, shaping the foundation of Jammu and Kashmir’s development.

Throughout the event, Prime Minister Modi interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes, showcasing the tangible impact of initiatives like Ujjwala Yojna, Ayushman Cards, and Rashtriya Ajivika Abhiyan on the lives of common citizens. The success stories shared by individuals from different walks of life demonstrated the transformative power of government programs in fostering self-reliance and economic empowerment.

The Prime Minister concluded by expressing confidence in the youth and assuring that the government would leave no deserving beneficiary behind, fostering a new era of development in Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, and Union Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh, were also present at the momentous occasion.
