PM Modi Unveils Commemorative Stamp Honoring 75 Years of the Supreme Court

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a commemorative postage stamp celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Supreme Court of India. The stamp was unveiled during the inaugural session of the District Judges Conference held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Chief Justice of India Dr. D Y Chandrachud and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, among others. The commemorative stamp serves as a tribute to the Supreme Court’s invaluable contributions to India’s judicial system and its vital role in shaping the legal framework of the nation.

The Supreme Court, which was established on January 28, 1950, has been a pillar of India’s democracy, safeguarding the rights of its citizens and ensuring justice across the nation. For the past 75 years, it has upheld the rule of law and played a crucial role in administering justice, making landmark decisions that have shaped the country’s legal and societal landscape.

During the release, Prime Minister Modi praised the judiciary for its unwavering dedication to justice and its role in reinforcing the foundation of Indian democracy. He lauded the Supreme Court’s commitment to upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution and emphasized the court’s integral role in maintaining the balance between governance and individual rights.

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, issued this commemorative stamp as a token of honor to mark the Supreme Court’s long-standing legacy in India’s judicial history. The stamp captures the essence of the judiciary’s pivotal role in ensuring justice, equity, and fairness for all citizens, making it a lasting symbol of the court’s contributions to the nation.
