PM Modi, Odisha CM Patnaik & WB CM Mamata reach train accident site

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the major train accident involving three trains in Bahanga near Balasore that had killed over 280 passengers and injured over 900.

He reached the accident site near Bahanga railway station in an IAF chopper.

He took stock of the situation at the mishap site and met injured victims at the accident site.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited the accident site and hospitals and took stock of the situation.

Over 17 coaches of Shalimar Chennai Coromandel Express and Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express derailed near Bahanaga station.

As per reports Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express first derailed near Bahanga railway station, then Shalimar Chennai Coromandel Express travelling in its usual speed collided with the derailed coaches of Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and and a Goods train.
