Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games Stamp Unveiled at French Postal Museum

Paris: The official stamp for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, created in collaboration between the Paris 2024 Organising Committee and La Poste Group, was officially unveiled at the French Postal Museum.

Inspired by the visual identity of the Paris Olympics, the stamp features iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the River Seine, adorned with sporting elements like athletics tracks and ball bounces. The stamp boasts exceptional finishes with hot stamping, as reported by Xinhua.

Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, expressed excitement about the stamp’s release, stating, “This stamp carries the colors of Paris 2024 and will fully contribute to opening up the Games. We can’t wait to see it travel in France and around the world.”

La Poste Group has a rich history of issuing official Olympic stamps, dating back to 1924 when Paris hosted the eighth Summer Olympic Games. Subsequent Olympic events held in France, including the Grenoble Winter Olympics in 1968 and the Albertville Winter Olympics in 1992, also witnessed the release of commemorative stamps by La Poste Group.

Following Paris’ successful bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics in 2017, La Poste Group marked the occasion with the release of a special stamp.

Philippe Wahl, President and CEO of La Poste Group, expressed pride in issuing this emblematic stamp, stating, “Rich in symbols, it reflects the soul of the Games and allows Paris 2024 to travel and shine across the world.”

Priced at 1.96 euros (approximately 2.12 U.S. dollars), the official Olympic stamp will have a circulation of 800,000 copies and will be available for sale starting March 29.
