OYO Founder Ritesh Agarwal announces to establish Healthcare Centers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Ritesh Agarwal, the visionary founder and CEO of OYO, has unveiled plans to establish five healthcare centers in his native state of Odisha within the next year, focusing on providing essential medical services to the underprivileged.

Operated by the health-tech startup ‘Last Mile Care,’ which currently manages 11 health centers across India, these initiatives aim to address healthcare disparities in small towns. The inaugural center, named the Ramesh and Bela Agarwal Healthcare Centre, was ceremoniously opened in Rayagada on December 13 by the honorable Minister Jagannath Saraka.

Expressing his deep sense of honour, Ritesh shared, “I am deeply honoured to contribute to the betterment of healthcare facilities in my hometown. This health center is a humble gesture of gratitude to the community that has played a pivotal role in my life’s journey.”

Emphasizing the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers, tech innovators, policymakers, and communities, Ritesh highlighted the dynamic nature of the healthcare landscape. “By fostering an environment conducive to innovation and investing in initiatives such as these, we are doing our bit to ensure that quality medical services become accessible to everyone,” he added.

The healthcare centers will leverage health-tech solutions and hybrid care options to deliver high-quality and affordable healthcare in underserved regions. During the initial three months, free doctor consultations will be provided, followed by discounted treatment and medicines for the next three months.

The comprehensive range of services includes preventive care, diagnostic services, primary healthcare, treatment for minor illnesses, professional consultation, referral services, affordable medication, and digital health record facilities. Each center will also boast a specialized team of doctors in gynecology, ophthalmology, and cardiology, ensuring a holistic approach to healthcare.

While these initiatives aim to address regions with limited access to healthcare facilities, thereby bridging the healthcare gap for marginalized populations, the company has not provided details on charitable treatments beyond the initial six months. Additionally, the budget allocation for establishing these healthcare centers remains undisclosed at this time.
