OTDC pays ₹1.17 crore dividend to Odisha govt, charts expansion roadmap

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has contributed a dividend of ₹1.17 crore to the Odisha government for the 2024–25 financial year, reflecting the corporation’s steady financial performance and its growing role in the state’s tourism sector.

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida received the dividend cheque from OTDC Managing Director Deepankar Mohapatra in the presence of senior officials of the corporation.

Appreciating OTDC’s performance, Parida said a financially sound and professionally managed tourism corporation is essential for strengthening Odisha’s tourism ecosystem, improving visitor experiences and supporting local economic development. She also commended the corporation’s efforts in expanding tourism infrastructure and enhancing the quality of services offered to visitors.

OTDC currently operates 14 Panthanivas hotels, authentic Odia cuisine restaurants and a luxury tourist transport fleet catering to both domestic and international travellers. The corporation also provides air ticketing services and manages an engineering division responsible for the planning, execution, upgradation and maintenance of tourism infrastructure across the state.

Officials said the dividend reflects OTDC’s continued focus on operational efficiency and sustainable growth while contributing to the state’s tourism development.

As part of its future strategy, the corporation has prepared a three-year roadmap aimed at increasing revenue and profitability through infrastructure modernisation, improved operational efficiency, diversification of tourism-related services and enhancement of facilities across its Panthanivas network and other business units.

The corporation said the planned initiatives are expected to strengthen Odisha’s tourism infrastructure further and support the state’s vision of attracting more domestic and international tourists.
