OPHWC Pays Record ₹21.28-Crore Dividend to Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Police Housing & Welfare Corporation Limited (OPHWC) has recorded its highest-ever dividend payout, contributing ₹21.28 crore to the state government for the financial year 2024–25, reflecting the PSU’s robust financial performance and sustained growth.

The dividend cheque was handed over to Chief Secretary Anu Garg by OPHWC Chairman-cum-Managing Director Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarsi in the presence of Special Secretary, Home Department R.K. Sharma, and other senior officials.

The corporation has witnessed consistent growth in recent years. It achieved a record turnover of around ₹1,520 crore during 2025–26, registering an 11 per cent increase over the ₹1,366 crore turnover recorded in the previous financial year. Officials said this is the highest turnover achieved by the corporation since its inception, further strengthening its position among Odisha’s leading state public sector undertakings in the construction sector.

A self-sustaining PSU under the Home Department, OPHWC has been paying dividends to the state government since 2014-15. With the latest payout, its cumulative dividend contribution has reached ₹86.05 crore.

The corporation has also earned national recognition for excellence in project execution. It received the prestigious Chairman Commendation Award from the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) under NITI Aayog for constructing the Commissionerate of Police building in Bhubaneswar in 2025 and the new hostel building at the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration in 2026.

OPHWC is currently executing several major infrastructure projects across Odisha, including the Tarakasi Hub in Cuttack, Excise Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, the hostel building of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, truck terminals at multiple locations, the New Model Jail in Bhubaneswar, District Jail at Jajpur, the Blue Flag Beach project at Paradip, tourism infrastructure at Dumduma Waterfall and Jiranga, besides constructing Atal Bus Stands for the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) across the state.

The corporation said its strong financial performance, timely execution of projects and focus on quality construction continue to support the state’s infrastructure development while contributing steadily to the government’s revenue through dividend payments.
