Odisha’s Tourism Sector Secures ₹8,153 Crore Investment at ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s tourism sector received a significant boost at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, with 121 investment intents totaling an impressive ₹8,153 crore. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who highlighted Odisha’s emergence as a prime investment hub.

Parida remarked, “Utkarsh Odisha is the ray of hope. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, Odisha is the next major destination for investors. This year, the tourism sector alone has attracted over ₹8,153 crore in investment commitments. The establishment of an MSME park for women-led businesses and increasing women’s leadership roles are crucial steps toward a brighter future for Odisha.”

The Utkarsh Odisha Conclave, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, has been hailed as the largest business summit in Odisha’s history, drawing a record number of investors. PM Modi, addressing the event, reaffirmed Odisha’s vital role in the economic rise of Eastern India.

“This is my second visit to Odisha this month, and I am thrilled to witness such enthusiastic participation in the Make in Odisha Conclave 2025,” the Prime Minister stated. “Eastern India, with Odisha at its heart, is becoming a crucial economic engine for the nation. Odisha’s rich industrial, port, and trade hubs are driving this growth, and its historical participation in South East Asia’s trade legacy is being revived.”

PM Modi also emphasized Odisha’s growing global ties, particularly with ASEAN nations, and recalled the state’s ancient trade links with South East Asia. He noted the recent visit of the President of Singapore, which further strengthened international interest in Odisha’s economic potential.

As Odisha continues to attract large-scale investments, the tourism sector is expected to benefit from infrastructure development, hospitality expansion, and cultural promotion. The investment commitments at the conclave will pave the way for new resorts, eco-tourism projects, heritage site conservation, and adventure tourism initiatives, reinforcing Odisha’s reputation as a premier travel destination.

With a strong policy framework, investor-friendly climate, and visionary leadership, Odisha is positioning itself as a powerhouse of economic and cultural growth. The Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 marks a new chapter in the state’s journey toward global recognition, ensuring long-term prosperity for its people and industries.
