This ambitious project is designed to elevate railway stations in the region to international standards, equipping them with cutting-edge amenities, green technologies, and enhanced accessibility features.
The stations set for redevelopment include Balangir, Titlagarh, Kantabanji, Kesinga, Bhawanipatna, Rayagada, Muniguda, Gunupur, Koraput, Jeypore, Damanjodi, Harishankar Road, and Khariar Road—all vital for connecting interior Odisha to the broader national railway network.
Key Features of the Amrit Station Redevelopment:
- Modern Infrastructure: Redesigned station buildings, spacious waiting areas, revamped ticketing systems, and upgraded platform surfaces.
- Enhanced Accessibility: Foot overbridges (FOBs), lifts, and Divyangjan-friendly features to ensure inclusive travel.
- Eco-Friendly Development: Adoption of solar energy, water conservation, sewage treatment plants, and sustainable building practices.
- Digital & Passenger Amenities: High-speed Wi-Fi, digital display boards, modern toilets, ‘One Station One Product’ kiosks, and enhanced catering options.

- Balangir (₹18.01 Cr): New station building, wide FOB, modern waiting rooms, Divyangjan facilities, and sewage treatment systems.
- Titlagarh (₹35.79 Cr): Second entry, extended FOB, three lifts, platform shelters, upgraded sanitation and signages.
- Kantabanji (₹33.87 Cr): Second entry, wide FOB, 22-bay shelters, raised platforms, and sustainable upgrades.
- Kesinga (₹20.85 Cr): 38-bay shelters, wide FOB, lifts, modern toilets, and digital enhancements.
- Bhawanipatna (₹18.83 Cr): Platform elevation, passenger lift, shelter upgrades, and accessible facilities.
- Rayagada (₹41.40 Cr): New rooms, dual-entry FOB, canopies, roads, pathways, and modern E&M works.
- Koraput (₹21.20 Cr): Platform improvement, station façade redesign, FOB, lifts, and expanded amenities.
- Jeypore (₹17.94 Cr): Upgraded surfacing, lifts, digital announcement system, and unique product kiosks.
- Muniguda (₹20.16 Cr): Wide FOB, coach indication boards, raised platforms, lifts, and sewage systems.
- Damanjodi (₹14.46 Cr): Platform shelters, lifts, wide FOB, and improved building aesthetics.
- Khariar Road (₹16.25 Cr): New building, second entry, digital clocks, signage, and improved accessibility.
- Harishankar Road (₹16.66 Cr): Three lifts, expanded FOB, platform shelters, and standardised signage.
- Gunupur: Selected under the scheme; detailed plans and costing are underway for future implementation.
