Odisha’s 2024 Voters’ List Unveiled: Over 7 Lakh Young First-Time Voters

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, unveiled the conclusive voters’ list for the state in 2024, following the culmination of the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls.

The electoral landscape of Odisha boasts a total of 3,32,36,360 voters, comprising 1,68,50,949 males and 1,63,82,031 females, as disclosed by the CEO.

Diversity is celebrated in the state’s electorate, with 4,57,821 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and 3,380 transgender voters being integral parts of the democratic process, according to the CEO’s revelations.

During the SSR for the year 2024, a noteworthy addition of 12,97,954 new voters enlivened the voter roster in Odisha. In contrast, the list saw the removal of 7,16,807 individuals.

Age-wise segregation of voters showcases a dynamic composition, including 7,54,946 young voters aged 18-19 and 6,85,048 senior citizens exercising their electoral rights.

Intriguingly, 2.27% of the voters fall within the 18-19 age bracket, while 2.06% belong to the 80 years and above category, as per the CEO’s insights.

Highlighting progress, the gender ratio stands at 972, marking the highest in the last five years, reinforcing Odisha’s commitment to inclusive and diverse representation in its electoral processes.
