
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced that it will release the second phase of financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana on October 9, 2024. Beneficiaries who have completed their application process by October 7 will receive their first installment of Rs 5,000.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida shared the update during a media briefing today. She noted that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will officially release the funds at a special event in Baripada, Mayurbhanj district, which has the highest number of beneficiaries under the scheme.
“The Chief Minister has instructed for the early release of the second phase of assistance. We’ve decided to distribute the funds on October 9, coinciding with the Dussehra festival, a day of significance as we celebrate Devi Durga,” Parida said. She added, “As many beneficiaries as have registered by October 7 will receive the assistance, with over 40 lakh women expected to receive their first installment on that day.”
In the first phase, more than 25 lakh beneficiaries received financial support, and in this second phase, an additional 40 lakh women are expected to benefit. Parida also highlighted that 96 lakh beneficiaries have registered under the scheme so far. As part of the event in Baripada, Chief Minister Majhi will honor both the first and the one croreth beneficiaries of the scheme.
