Odisha to Experience Dry Weather with Foggy Mornings Over Next Five Days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry weather across Odisha for the next five days, with shallow to moderate fog expected during the early morning hours in several districts. In its mid-day bulletin on Monday, the IMD’s regional office in Bhubaneswar issued yellow warnings for dense fog in select areas.

For February 4, the IMD has predicted shallow to moderate fog in the early morning hours over districts including Khurda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Ganjam. Additionally, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi may witness fog at isolated places. A yellow warning has been issued for dense fog at one or two places in Khurda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Ganjam.

For February 5, similar conditions are expected, with Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, and Ganjam likely to experience dense fog. Other districts such as Nayagarh, Balasore, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, and Angul may see shallow to moderate fog in the morning hours. A yellow warning remains in place for dense fog at one or two locations in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, and Ganjam.

On February 6, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati are expected to experience early morning fog. A yellow warning has been issued for dense fog at one or two places in these districts. Additionally, foggy conditions are anticipated in Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput at isolated locations.

The IMD has advised caution for motorists and commuters due to reduced visibility during morning hours, particularly in districts under the yellow warning. Authorities have been urged to regulate vehicular movement in affected areas to prevent accidents.

Despite the foggy mornings, Odisha will experience dry and stable weather conditions throughout the state, with no significant changes in temperature patterns expected over the next five days.
