Odisha Skills Competition Honours State’s Youth for Excellence in Various Skill Sectors

Bhubaneswar: The ‘Odisha Skills’ competition, a flagship initiative under the Skilled In Odisha program, recently concluded with a grand ceremony to felicitate the talented youth who demonstrated exemplary skills across various sectors. Hosted by the Skill Development & Technical Education Department and the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), the event aimed to nurture global skills among the state’s youth and provide them with opportunities to excel on national and international platforms.

Winners of the ‘Odisha Skills’ competitions were honored with medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding achievements. A total of 142 finalists, representing 45 skills across 6 sectors, were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals for their exemplary performance.

The competition witnessed the participation of over 800 students from various government and private ITIs, Polytechnics, and other skill development institutes across the state.

Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, extended his congratulations to the winners and emphasized the crucial role of skilled youth in realizing the vision of making Odisha a ‘Skill Capital’.

“Odisha aims to become a hub of skilled professionals, contributing not only to the state’s development but also representing the nation on global platforms. The talented youth of Odisha will serve as ambassadors, showcasing their skills and bringing pride to our state,” remarked Kartik Pandian during the ceremony, addressing the gathered students.

The event provided a platform for students to share their transformative experiences in skill development through the Odisha Skill Development Programme and the World Skill Center. Students narrated inspiring stories of personal growth and professional success, highlighting the impact of skill training in shaping their futures.

The finalists of Odisha Skills will now advance to the national-level India Skills competition, scheduled for April, followed by the prestigious ‘World Skills’ event in France in September.
