
Bhubaneswar: The summer heat has intensified across Odisha, with 10 cities recording temperatures of 37°C or higher. Boudh emerged as the hottest location, reaching a scorching 38.2°C, as per the latest data shared by weather scientist Umashankar Dash on Sunday.
Balangir followed closely with 38.1°C, while Angul recorded 37.9°C. Other cities experiencing extreme temperatures included Titilagarh (37.6°C), Bhadrak (37.5°C), Jharsuguda (37.5°C), and Jajpur (37.2°C). Meanwhile, Baripada, Sonepur, and Bhawanipatna all recorded 37°C, further underscoring the intensifying heatwave across the state.
Even in Bhubaneswar, the capital city, temperatures crossed the 35°C mark, peaking at 36.1°C, while Cuttack recorded a slightly cooler 34.2°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), no significant changes in daytime or nighttime temperatures are expected in Odisha over the next 4-5 days. The department has advised residents to take precautions against the rising heat, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
