Odisha Showcases ‘Aviation for All’ Vision at Wings India 2026

Hyderabad/Bhubaneswar: Odisha is making a strong and aspirational presence at Wings India 2026, Asia’s largest civil aviation event, through its dedicated pavilion themed “Odisha Takes Flight”, highlighting the State’s growing role in India’s aviation growth story.

The Odisha Pavilion offers visitors a glimpse into the State’s efforts to build a future-ready, inclusive and investment-friendly aviation ecosystem, driven by progressive policies, expanding regional and international connectivity, focused skilling initiatives, and long-term infrastructure planning. The showcase aligns with Odisha’s broader development roadmap under Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Centred on the vision of “Aviation for All,” the pavilion highlights opportunities in airport development, aviation training, the drone ecosystem, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) potential, and human capital development. Officials said the State’s approach combines policy support with private sector participation to strengthen the entire aviation value chain.

Adding momentum to Odisha’s participation, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, took part as a panelist in the “Women in Aviation” Round Table Session, underscoring the State’s commitment to gender-inclusive growth and leadership in the aviation sector. Speaking on the occasion, she said Odisha is focused on encouraging girls to explore aviation careers early and is working through inter-departmental convergence and partnerships to create an enabling ecosystem for women to enter, grow, and lead in aviation.

As part of its skilling-led development strategy, the Commerce & Transport Department signed two Memoranda of Understanding to strengthen aviation training infrastructure in the State. An MoU with M/s Alchemist Aviation will facilitate the establishment of a Flying Training Organisation (FTO) at Dandbose Airport in Mayurbhanj, with an annual capacity to train around 50 pilots. Another MoU with M/s BonV Aero will enable the setting up of a UAV (drone) Training and Testing Centre at Rangeilinda Airstrip, Berhampur—the first such facility in Odisha—capable of training over 100 UAV pilots annually.

Officials said Odisha’s aviation development strategy places strong emphasis on public–private partnership-led infrastructure, coordinated policy support, and long-term sustainability to boost regional connectivity and promote inclusive growth.

Visitors can explore Odisha’s aviation journey at Hall C, Stall No. 25-C, at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, from January 28 to 31, 2026, during Wings India 2026, themed “Indian Aviation: Paving the Future — from Design to Deployment, Manufacture to Maintenance, Inclusivity to Innovation.”
