Reliance Jio Launches AI Classroom Drive to Make Teachers, Students AI-Ready Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a major push towards future-ready education, Reliance Jio, under its mission ‘AI for Everyone’, has launched an extensive initiative to make thousands of teachers and students across Odisha AI-ready through its Jio AI Classroom programme.

Over 5,000 teachers and students from more than 650 schools across the State have already enrolled in the free, structured national AI training programme, which aims to equip learners with foundational and practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence. As part of the initiative, AI workshops are being organised in schools and colleges across Odisha to familiarise participants with emerging technologies.

The Jio AI Classroom is a four-module programme comprising video lectures, PDF study material, reference videos, quizzes, and assignments. Participants receive a completion badge after finishing all modules, while learners accessing the course exclusively via JioPC are eligible for a certification from Jio Institute, validating both conceptual understanding and practical application.

Designed as a four-week AI learning journey, the programme is open to teachers and students from Class VI to Class XII. It covers AI fundamentals, generative AI models, effective prompting, and the use of AI tools to enhance learning and creativity—ranging from problem-solving and content creation to art, music, storytelling, and real-world projects. Participants also work on their first guided AI project, gaining hands-on exposure to AI technologies.

For teachers, the programme offers expert-led online training and access to premium AI tools, enabling more efficient lesson planning, grading, assessments, question paper preparation, and classroom engagement. Students can access the course through jio.com/ai-classroom using a desktop or laptop.

Powered by JioPC and developed by Jio Institute, the initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) emphasis on digital skilling. To further support learners, JioPC has announced an AI Classroom Scholarship, offering subsidised access to JioPC for students who complete the AI foundation course, allowing them to work on AI projects without the need for expensive hardware.

Earlier, Reliance Jio had also conducted an extensive AI awareness campaign across over 600 colleges and higher education institutions in Odisha, introducing students to Google Gemini Pro through interactive sessions. These sessions demonstrated practical AI applications for academics, creativity, coding, research, and career preparedness, including tools such as NotebookLM for note-making and assignments.

Reiterating its commitment to bridging the digital divide, Jio is integrating cutting-edge AI technologies with its True 5G network to prepare Odisha’s youth for meaningful participation in the digital economy.

In support of this initiative, Google Gemini Pro is being offered free for 18 months to all active Jio Unlimited 5G users, a subscription valued at ₹35,100. The plan includes access to the latest Gemini 3 Pro model, AI tools such as Nano Banana Pro for image creation, Veo 3.1 for video generation, NotebookLM for research, and 2 TB of cloud storage, which can be activated via the MyJio app.

Officials said the initiative marks a significant step towards democratising AI education and empowering teachers and students across Odisha to confidently transition into an AI-driven future.
