Odisha Revises Pay Structure for Contractual AYUSH Doctors, Monthly Salary Up to Rs 91,467

Bhubaneswar: In a move aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and retaining skilled medical professionals, the Odisha government has approved a substantial revision in the remuneration of contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM). The decision, cleared by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, seeks to acknowledge their critical role in public healthcare and enhance job satisfaction.

As per the revised structure, contractual AYUSH doctors will receive a monthly salary increase ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000, based on their years of service. Following the hike, the minimum monthly remuneration has been fixed at Rs 56,948, while the maximum has been raised to Rs 91,467.

Doctors with less than five years of experience will be eligible for a Rs 20,000 increment, taking their monthly pay to Rs 56,948. Those with five to ten years of service will receive a Rs 25,000 hike, raising their salary to Rs 74,467.

For AYUSH doctors with ten to fifteen years of experience, the pay will increase by Rs 30,000, reaching Rs 80,467, while those with over fifteen years of service will benefit from a Rs 40,000 raise, bringing their total monthly remuneration to Rs 91,467.

Currently, 2,912 AYUSH doctors are engaged under the NHM across Odisha, providing essential healthcare services, particularly in rural, tribal and hard-to-reach areas. The revised pay structure is expected to result in an additional annual financial outlay of around Rs 1 crore for the state government.

Officials said the enhanced remuneration is expected to improve workforce stability, boost morale, and further strengthen the delivery of affordable and accessible healthcare services across the state.
