New Delhi: The 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 opened for exhibitors at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with the Odisha Pavilion emerging as one of the prime attractions of the event. Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the pavilion on Friday, marking the beginning of the State’s vibrant presence at this year’s trade fair.
The 14-day fair, themed around ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’, brings together participants from across the globe to celebrate India’s socio-economic progress and cultural diversity. Among the many displays, the Odisha Mandap stands out for its captivating portrayal of the State’s indigenous heritage and contemporary developmental strides.
Located at Hall No. 4, First Floor at Bharat Mandapam, the Odisha Pavilion offers an immersive experience that blends timeless tradition with modern aspirations. Deputy Chief Minister Parida praised the pavilion’s design, expressing confidence that it would draw significant attention from visitors.
“The pavilion reflects Odisha’s development in agriculture, tourism, heritage, industries, trade and other sectors. The display of art and crafts, spiritual tourism, handlooms, apart from indigenous products of our state, will definitely attract visitors at the fair,” she said. She also highlighted Odisha’s leading role in women empowerment, noting the strong participation of women in this year’s trade fair.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Special Resident Commissioner Ritu Arora, Additional Resident Commissioner Sucharita Sarangi, Director I&PR Anuj Kumar Das Pattanaik, Director (Technical) Gurbir Singh, and Pavilion Director Aswini Kumar Bhoi, along with other senior officials.
The pavilion features 28 thematic stalls representing various State government departments and showcases Odisha’s progress across key sectors. A variety of rural products, including coffee, organic spices, bamboo jewellery, and organic food items produced by Subhadra Shakti women, are on display.
Visitors entering the pavilion are welcomed by a stunning replica of the Singha Dwara—the Lion’s Gate of the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri—symbolizing Odisha’s spiritual and cultural legacy. The interior showcases iconic elements such as the Dhauli Shanti Stupa, Dhokra metal crafts, and a model of Paradip Port with a ship. Another entrance of the pavilion features the Boita Dwara, paying homage to the State’s maritime heritage and ancient trade links.
The pavilion also offers live demonstrations by traditional Odia artisans, allowing visitors to witness intricate craft forms like Pattachitra, Silver Filigree, Sabai Grass art, and Lac work.
With its blend of cultural richness, artistic excellence, and developmental achievements, the Odisha Pavilion promises to be a major highlight of IITF 2025, offering visitors a glimpse into the essence of a Transforming Odisha under Vision @2036.
