Odisha Mourns the Passing of Veteran BJD Leader Damodar Rout

Bhubaneswar: The state of Odisha is engulfed in mourning as news of the demise of former minister and veteran Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Damodar Rout spreads. Rout passed away in the early hours of Friday, leaving behind a legacy of service and leadership.

Expressing his condolences, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to his social media handle to share his grief. He wrote, “I am saddened to learn about the demise of senior Biju Janata Party leader and former minister Damodar Rout. This is an irreparable loss in Odisha politics. His work for the service and betterment of the people will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace and my condolences to the bereaved family members.”

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das also conveyed his condolences at the loss of the veteran politician. Das described Rout as an efficient MLA, an active minister, and a popular leader. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and followers of the departed leader, wishing him eternal peace.
