Odisha Minister Sampad Swain Visits Jagatpur-Choudwar Industrial Hubs, Pledges Support for Local Enterprises and Jobs

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain conducted a comprehensive visit to the Jagatpur and Choudwar industrial belts on Monday. The visit focused on assessing the functioning of existing units, understanding their challenges, and identifying avenues for further development.

During the field inspection, the Minister toured several key industrial units including Sushant Minerals, Glaze Plastics, Swastik Industries, Hindustan Technology, Odisha Plast-O, Pragati Milk, and Pashupati Agrovet. He also reviewed the Common Facility Centre at Indrani Patna, developed with joint support from the Central and State Governments, and inspected upcoming projects by Welspun Ltd, including a handloom unit and a proposed logistics park.

Following the site visits, Swain chaired a review meeting with stakeholders, where he discussed pressing issues like land allotment, land use constraints, and infrastructure support. Addressing the concerns of industrialists, he assured that the State Government is committed to providing a business-friendly environment and that genuine enterprises would receive full support in their expansion and operations.

“The government wants to ensure that new and existing industries thrive, creating more job opportunities for local youth. We are fully aligned with the vision of an industrially empowered Odisha,” the Minister said.

Industry representatives raised concerns about waste management and environmental compliance, to which the Minister responded with assurance of timely government intervention and resolution. He reiterated that sustainable and responsible industrial practices remain a key priority for the administration.

The visit was accompanied by senior officials of IDCO, including Managing Director Prashant Kumar Reddy, CGMs Subash Chandra Natha Sharma and Aravinda Tripathy, and Land Officer Smt. Arundhati Pattnayak, who took stock of the infrastructure and land use issues and pledged prompt follow-up action.
