
Bhubaneswar: The first session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly is scheduled to commence from July 22, with the State government slated to present its annual budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on July 25.
Governor Raghubar Das will inaugurate the session with his customary address on July 22, marking the beginning of legislative proceedings for the current term.
A key highlight of the session will be the election to the post of Deputy Speaker, scheduled to take place on July 24. This appointment is crucial for the effective functioning of the Assembly and will be closely watched by political stakeholders and the public alike.
According to a notification issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the session is set to run until September 13, allowing ample time for deliberations, discussions, and legislative business.
