Bhubaneswar: Odisha has rolled out a week-long statewide capacity-building initiative, “SĀDHANA Saptah – 2026,” aimed at strengthening governance through continuous learning and skill development of government officials.
The programme was formally launched by Anu Garg, Chief Secretary of Odisha, at Lok Seva Bhawan. Scheduled from April 2 to 8, the initiative is being organised by the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration on behalf of the General Administration & Public Grievance Department.
Conceptualised as “SADHANA Saptah 2026 – Sadhana to become a Karmayogi,” the programme aligns with the national vision of Mission Karmayogi. It is part of a broader nationwide effort led by the Department of Personnel and Training in collaboration with the Capacity Building Commission and Karmayogi Bharat to build future-ready and citizen-centric governance systems.
At the core of the initiative is the iGOT Karmayogi Platform, which enables officials to undertake structured, self-paced digital learning. The platform also offers courses in Odia, making it more accessible for state officials. Participants have been encouraged to complete at least four hours of learning during the week.
Key focus areas include completion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Daksh courses leading to ‘AI Daksh’ badges, participation in marketplace courses for ‘Karmayogi Utkarsh’ certification, and engagement in “Samuhik Charcha” such as group discussions and webinars on governance themes. Training institutions will also conduct blended learning programmes as part of the initiative.
In her address, Garg stressed the importance of leveraging digital platforms like iGOT to promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and performance-linked competency in governance.
The launch event was attended by Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, and Chithra Arumugam, Director General of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, along with senior officials from the General Administration & Public Grievance Department and other departments.
The state government aims to significantly enhance participation and course completion rates on the iGOT platform during the week, encouraging departments and training institutions to actively engage and share their progress.
