
Bhubaneswar: Odisha cadre IPS officer Anupama James has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on central deputation. The 2013-batch officer, currently serving as the SP in the Odisha Vigilance Department, will now take on a crucial role at the national level.
A notification issued by the Odisha Home Department confirmed the transfer, stating, “The services of Ms. Anupama James, IPS (OD: 2013), at present SP, Vigilance, Odisha, are placed at the disposal of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs for her appointment as Superintendent of Police in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on deputation basis.”
The notification also mentioned that Anupama James has been relieved of her current duties to join the NIA. Her appointment marks a significant step in her career, as she will now contribute to national security efforts through the NIA.
