Odisha Inducts 2,473 Doctors and Dental Surgeons

Bhubaneswar: In a significant boost to the state’s healthcare infrastructure, a total of 2,473 Medical Officers, comprising 2,392 MBBS doctors and 81 Dental Surgeons, were officially welcomed into the state medical services. The induction ceremony took place at Kalinga Stadium and was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to transformative initiatives in various sectors across the region. Emphasizing healthcare as a priority under the 5T transformative initiative, he expressed confidence in the new Medical Officers contributing significantly to enhancing the healthcare delivery system.

Addressing the newly inducted doctors, Chief Minister Patnaik encouraged them to focus not only on professional excellence but also on a compassionate approach toward patients. He stressed the importance of creating a positive and reassuring environment for every patient, ensuring their confidence in the healthcare system.

Acknowledging the sacrifices made by the family members of the new doctors, Chief Minister Patnaik welcomed them into the state’s healthcare system. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing universal access to quality healthcare services for all residents of Odisha, aligning with the objective of “Sustha Odisha, Sukhi Odisha.”

Highlighting ongoing initiatives, the Chief Minister mentioned the substantial increase in the production of doctors, with plans for additional medical colleges in the near future. He outlined the recruitment efforts for medical and para-medical officers, emphasizing the importance of “Ama Hospitals” to improve the quality of healthcare services.

As a token of appreciation, Chief Minister Patnaik distributed high-quality stethoscopes to the newly recruited Medical Officers and Dental Kits to the Dental Surgeons. The new appointees were transparently placed in different districts through a merit-based online counseling system.

The induction of these new healthcare professionals aligns with Odisha’s commitment to achieving excellence in healthcare and ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
