Government Takes Comprehensive Measures for Anganwadi Workers' Welfare and Development
Bhubaneswar: In response to the prevailing heatwave conditions sweeping across the state, the Odisha Government has announced a revision in the timings of Anganwadi centres, effective immediately.
The daily activity schedule for Anganwadi centres, whether operating in their own buildings, community halls, or non-school buildings, has been adjusted. Previously running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the timings will now be from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
With the scorching temperatures posing health risks, especially for children, Anganwadi centres have been instructed to ensure the availability of ample drinking water and ORS packets to keep the students adequately hydrated during their time at the centres.
Starting from tomorrow, April 2, classes at Anganwadi centres statewide will adhere to the revised schedule, operating from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
During this period, activities focusing on the development of cognitive skills, as well as physical and motor development, will take place from 7:15 AM to 9:45 AM.
This decision comes on the heels of the State Government’s earlier announcement regarding the commencement of morning classes in all schools beginning April 2, 2024. These classes will also run from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM, aligning with the revised timings of Anganwadi centres.
