Odisha Govt Partners with EESL to Boost Energy Efficiency and Green Development

Bhubaneswar: In a major push toward sustainable development, the Odisha government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) to implement large-scale energy efficiency measures across the state. The agreement marks a significant step in Odisha’s commitment to climate action, clean energy, and green infrastructure.

The MoU was signed between the Energy Department of Odisha and EESL in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. The collaboration aims to enhance energy efficiency in public infrastructure, promote clean cooking solutions, and accelerate the adoption of electric mobility. Additionally, the partnership will focus on capacity building, knowledge sharing, and research and development to drive innovation in the energy sector.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo emphasized Odisha’s commitment to energy security and sustainability. “This partnership with EESL will help us implement large-scale energy efficiency projects, reduce costs, and improve public infrastructure. By promoting clean mobility and adopting innovative energy solutions, we are ensuring a greener and more resilient future for Odisha,” he said.

Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, Vishal Kumar Dev, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “Enhancing energy efficiency is a key priority for Odisha as we work towards a more sustainable and resilient future. This MoU will help us optimize energy consumption and leverage cutting-edge technologies to achieve our sustainability goals.”

EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor underscored the importance of the collaboration, saying, “This MoU reflects our shared vision for sustainable development and energy conservation. We believe this partnership will position Odisha as a leader in energy efficiency and contribute to India’s broader Net Zero targets.”
