
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has declared September 17 as a holiday for all schools and colleges under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in light of the launch of the Subhadra Yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The announcement comes ahead of a major public event at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, where the Prime Minister will officially unveil the new scheme.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) issued a statement confirming the closure, stating that all educational institutions in Bhubaneswar will remain closed for the entire day to accommodate the large gathering and preparations for the event.
Additionally, government offices in Bhubaneswar will be closed for the first half of the day, allowing employees to participate in or accommodate the logistical demands of the programme.
