Odisha Govt Appoints R. Santhanagopalan as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of SSEPD Department

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has appointed IAS officer R. Santhanagopalan as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, Santhanagopalan will hold this role as an additional charge. A 2001 batch IAS officer, he is currently serving as the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha and Ex-officio Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Home (Elections) Department.

The notification also stated that the additional appointment of Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra as Principal Secretary of the SSEPD Department will terminate once Santhanagopalan assumes the new position.

This move is part of the government’s efforts to ensure streamlined administration and effective service delivery in the SSEPD Department, which plays a critical role in empowering persons with disabilities across the state.
