Odisha Govt Appoints Chitrasen Rout as Additional Secretary to Chief Minister

Bhubaneswar: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government announced the appointment of senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer Chitrasen Rout as the additional secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The decision was formalized through a notification issued by the General Administration department on Saturday.

Chitrasen Rout, who was previously serving as the Additional Secretary in the Works Department, has been transferred to his new role in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). This move marks the third major change in the officials attached to the Chief Minister’s Office in recent times.

Earlier, the state government appointed senior OAS officer Trilochan Mohanty as Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister. Mohanty, who was serving as the Sub-Collector of Keonjhar, the Chief Minister’s home district, took on his new responsibilities recently.

In another notable shift, Satish Chandra Samal was transferred from the Home Department and appointed as the Additional Private Secretary to the Chief Minister.
