Odisha Govt Announces Cash Reward for Men’s Hockey Team; ₹15 Lakh for Each Player, ₹4 Crore for Rohidas

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced a cash reward for the Indian Men’s Hockey team and its supporting staff following their triumph in securing the Bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his congratulations to the team and revealed the rewards.

As part of the announcement, each player on the team will receive a cash reward of Rs 15 lakh, while Odia player Amit Rohidas, who played a crucial role in the victory, will be specially awarded Rs 4 crore. Additionally, all supporting staff members will receive Rs 10 lakh each.

“I am pleased to announce a cash reward of Rs 15 lakh for each player and Rs 10 lakh for each supporting staff member. A special cash reward of Rs 4 crore is also announced for Odia player Amit Rohidas,” Chief Minister Majhi stated.

Majhi also praised the team’s captain, Harmanpreet Singh, and congratulated the entire squad for their remarkable achievement. “Today’s victory will inspire countless sports talents and sports lovers in the state,” he added.

Following the team’s 2-1 victory over Spain to claim the Bronze medal, the Chief Minister personally spoke with the players over the phone to extend his congratulations. He also invited the team to visit Odisha soon, marking the state’s continued commitment to supporting and promoting hockey.
