
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today declared a 4 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for State Government employees and pensioners, respectively. The announcement, made through a release from the Chief Minister’s Office, signifies the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its employees and pensioners.
According to the release, the Odisha Government has sanctioned a 4 percent additional dose of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for State Government employees and pensioners, increasing the rate from 46 percent to 50 percent.
The enhanced DA and DR will be disbursed retrospectively from January 1, 2024. This decision is poised to benefit approximately 4.5 lakh State Government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners across the state.
This move by the Odisha Government comes as a relief for employees and pensioners amidst the current economic landscape, ensuring that they are able to cope with the rising cost of living.
