New Nature Park Inaugurated in Bhubaneswar, Including Pet-Friendly Features

Bhubaneswar: A new addition to Bhubaneswar’s green spaces was unveiled today with the inauguration of the Nature Park at Bharatpur by Susant Kumar Rout, the MLA (North). Developed by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Mayor Sulochana Das, Deputy Mayor Manjulata Kanhar, and BDA officials.

Expanding over 5 acres and constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore, the park introduces several innovative features, setting it apart as a unique recreational destination in the city. Notably, it includes a designated area catering to pet animals, marking a pioneering initiative in Bhubaneswar. This pet-friendly space is designed to accommodate dogs of all breeds, offering both large and small canines a comfortable environment to socialize with their owners. Featuring a dedicated paw zone with tiled flooring and eco-friendly seating arrangements for caregivers, the park ensures a delightful experience for pet enthusiasts.

Apart from the pet zone, the park offers a plethora of amenities aimed at promoting health, wellness, and leisure. Visitors can enjoy pathways, a murum track, an open gym, a children’s play area, a yoga mandap, a meditation podium, an amphitheater, and toilet facilities within the premises. Additionally, it houses a garden library and a cafeteria, providing opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation amidst nature’s tranquility.

The Bhubaneswar Urban Knowledge Centre (BUKC) of the BDA played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and designing the park, with a strong emphasis on ecological principles. Inspired by nature, the park’s layout and features align with sustainability goals while offering a serene retreat for city dwellers. With the management of approximately 50 parks across Bhubaneswar, the BDA aims to enrich the city’s green infrastructure and foster accessible recreational spaces for residents.

Furthermore, the park incorporates dedicated parking spaces for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, ensuring hassle-free access for visitors. Its comprehensive amenities and pet-friendly initiatives reflect a holistic approach to urban park development, catering to the diverse needs of the community while promoting environmental stewardship.
