Odisha Govt Announces ₹30,000 Monthly Honorarium for Padma Awardees

Bhubaneswar: In a landmark decision, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a monthly honorarium of ₹30,000 for all living Padma awardees from Odisha. This move will benefit 55 distinguished recipients, recognizing their contributions to society and honoring their achievements on behalf of the state.

The newly introduced honorarium is expected to cost the state exchequer ₹2 crore annually, underscoring the government’s commitment to celebrating the accomplishments of its esteemed citizens. Odisha’s Padma awardees, who have excelled in diverse fields including arts, social work, literature, and public affairs, will receive the financial support starting immediately.
