
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government announced the transfer of six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, reshuffling their roles and responsibilities across different levels. The Home Department issued a notification detailing the changes, which are aimed at optimizing policing efforts and enhancing administrative efficiency.
According to the notification, Ashish Kumar Singh, a 2004-batch IPS officer who previously served as the Inspector General of Police (I.G.) of the Crime Branch in Cuttack, has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police, CM’s Security.
Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, a 2010-batch IPS officer who held the position of Deputy Inspector General (D.I.G.) of Police in Rourkela, will now serve as the Additional Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).
Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh, also a 2010-batch IPS officer and the former Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in the Urban Police District (UPD) of Cuttack, has been designated as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Special Intelligence Wing (SIW).
Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, a 2012-batch IPS officer who previously served as the Superintendent of Police (S.P.) in Angul, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police, Vigilance.
Jugal Kishore Kumar Banoth, an IPS officer from the 2011 batch and the current Superintendent of Police in Khurda, has been transferred and will now serve as the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police at Headquarters.
Dr. Saravana Vivek M, a 2015-batch IPS officer who currently holds the position of Superintendent of Police in Berhampur, has been transferred to the role of Superintendent of Police, Vigilance.
