
Bhubaneswar: As Odisha prepares for the upcoming General Elections 2024, top government officials of the state convened a crucial meeting today to strategize the deployment of security forces across the state.
The meeting, held at Lok Seva Bhawan, saw the participation of key figures including Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Chief Election Officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Additional Election Officer Dr N. Thirumala Naik, Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi, and other senior officials from the State Police Administration.
The focus of the meeting was on discussing the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and State Armed Police Forces (SAPF) in preparation for the general elections. Detailed deliberations were held regarding the allocation of police forces as per the specific requirements of different districts across the state.
Ensuring the peaceful conduct of elections on polling days, including the commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and implementing tight security arrangements in the strong rooms, was among the primary agendas discussed during the meeting.
