Bhubaneswar: To support security and ensure a smooth experience for devotees, the Odisha government has started deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) cameras ahead of the highly anticipated Rath Yatra festival in Puri.
With millions of pilgrims expected from across India and abroad, authorities are implementing cutting-edge surveillance systems to monitor and manage large gatherings efficiently.
Puri Superintendent of Police Vinit Agrawal highlighted that the AI cameras will facilitate real-time surveillance, enabling law enforcement to respond swiftly to any security concerns. The installation process is already underway along key locations, including national highways and Badadanda, the Grand Road leading to the Jagannath Temple.
These AI-powered cameras will play a crucial role in detecting blind spots, identifying traffic bottlenecks, and flagging any unusual activities, allowing police to take immediate action. Additionally, they will relay real-time data to authorities, ensuring better crowd regulation and traffic management during the festivities.
