
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has disbursed ₹5,000 each to over 2.30 lakh women beneficiaries in the final phase of the first installment under the Subhadra Yojana, marking a significant milestone in the state’s flagship welfare initiative. This latest disbursement amounts to over ₹115 crore, reinforcing the government’s commitment to women’s financial empowerment.
Announcing the completion of the first phase at a special event on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida lauded the scheme’s impact and recognized the crucial role played by Anganwadi workers and helpers in its successful implementation. As a token of appreciation, the government will award ₹1,500 to Anganwadi workers and ₹500 to helpers for their efforts.
The second installment of the scheme is scheduled for release on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day, furthering the government’s focus on supporting women across the state.
