Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has scheduled an emergency review meeting at 3 pm today at Lokseva Bhawan to take stock of the crime situation across Odisha. The move comes as the state government looks to assess law and order and address rising public concerns.
Sources said the meeting will bring together the Home Secretary, senior Crime Branch officials, and the Director General of Intelligence. Ahead of the session, the CM has instructed the Director General of Police to submit a comprehensive report covering the past year’s crime data, trends, and analysis of the state’s crime graph.
The agenda is expected to include a performance review of Odisha’s law enforcement agencies, identification of operational gaps, and formulation of strategies to improve policing and ensure public safety.
Officials familiar with the matter hinted that the deliberations could pave the way for significant changes within the police department, including possible reshuffles and transfers of senior IPS officers.
