Paradip: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik marked a significant milestone today as he laid the foundation stone for JSW Utkal Steel Limited’s Integrated Greenfield Steel Plant at Paradip. The colossal steel plant, set to be established in Dhinkia, will entail an investment of approximately Rs 65,000 crore and is projected to have a production capacity of 13.2 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA). The ambitious project is expected to generate employment opportunities for a staggering 30,000 individuals.

In addition to the steel plant, Chief Minister Patnaik also inaugurated the foundation stone for a 1.20 MTPA green ammonia plant by ReNew E-Fuels Private Ltd., featuring an investment of Rs 22,000 crore. Furthermore, a 25,000 MTPA modern chemicals factory of Silox India Private Limited, with an investment of Rs 500 crore, was unveiled. Collectively, these initiatives are set to create job opportunities for approximately 5,000 people.

Reflecting on the occasion, Chief Minister Patnaik reminisced about the visionary late Biju Patnaik, stating, “Late Biju Patnaik’s memories come to my mind whenever I visit Paradip. In the 1960s, he took the revolutionary step of establishing Paradip Port. This was a milestone in Odisha’s development. Paradip has emerged as a major investment destination in eastern India.”

Expressing gratitude to the industrialists for their substantial investments, the Chief Minister highlighted that these new projects are poised to provide employment for around 35,000 individuals, further solidifying Paradip’s position as a key hub for economic growth in the eastern region of India.
