Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Reviews State Law and Order, Emphasizes Quality Service

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi held a comprehensive review of the state’s law and order situation on Saturday, meeting with Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Sarangi and other senior police officials. The Chief Minister underscored the importance of delivering quality service to the public and ensuring that police personnel are responsive and courteous.

“All our senior officials from the police headquarters in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar met the Chief Minister today. It was a courtesy call where we discussed various issues. The Chief Minister inquired about the status of the police in the state and particularly stressed the need to provide quality service, listen to the complaints of people visiting police stations, and treat them with respect,” DGP Sarangi informed reporters following the meeting.

Chief Minister Majhi directed the police officials to ensure that their personnel exhibit good behavior towards the public and efficiently address their grievances. “We will inform all personnel to behave well with the people and listen to their complaints. Everyone will strive to deliver quality police service,” added the DGP.

Regarding the implementation of three new criminal laws set to take effect from July 1 across the country, DGP Sarangi mentioned that the Chief Minister was briefed on the preparations and upcoming changes. “The Chief Minister will review it,” Sarangi stated.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Special Secretary (Home) Santosh Bala, Additional Director Generals (ADGs) Sanjay Kumar, R K Sharma, Arun Bothra, Amitabh Thakur, Director of Intelligence Saumendra Priyadarshi, and Twin City Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, among other senior police officials.
