Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Presents Ambitious Budget of Rs 2.65 Lakh Crore for 2024-25

Bhubaneswar: In a historic move, Odisha Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Majhi unveiled the state’s first budget for the financial year 2024-25, presenting a robust total outlay of Rs 2,65,000 crore in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday. This budget marks a notable 15% increase from the previous year’s estimate of Rs 2,30,000 crore for 2023-24.

The proposed budget aims to drive growth and development across various sectors, emphasizing inclusive and sustainable development. The increased allocation is poised to significantly enhance infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and economic growth in the state.

Women, Child & Mission Shakti

  • Subhadra Yojana: Rs 10,000 crore
  • Mamata and PMMVY: Rs 521 crore
  • POSHAN Abhiyan: Rs 295 crore
  • Mission Shakti Programme: Rs 1,179 crore

Urban Development

  • Bhubaneswar Metro Rail: Rs 1,000 crore
  • Urban Water Supply: Rs 357 crore
  • New City Development: Rs 918 crore

Health

  • Ayushman Bharat: Rs 500 crore
  • Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana: Rs 5,450 crore
  • Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Seva Mission: Rs 2,462 crore
  • National Health Mission: Rs 2,095 crore

Education

  • Gopabandhu Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya: Rs 50 crore
  • Panchasakha Sikhya Setu: Rs 332 crore
